Gayà matches personal single-season assist record
Racking up another setup for a teammate in the game against Real Valladolid, José Luis Gayà matched his assist record for a single season.
The Valencia CF captain made a trademark surging run down the left wing just before halftime. Cutting the ball across, his pass was left by Daniel Wass to find Maxi Gómez at the back post, who slotted home to open the scoring.

With the assist, Gayà reached 6 for the season, equalling his previous best from 2014/15. He is also the joint top assist providing defender in LaLiga this term, alongside Jesús Navas of Sevilla and Kieran Trippier of Atletico Madrid.

Three games remain of the 2020/21 season, in which Gayà will look to continue to contribute for Valencia CF with his clinical deliveries into the box.
